What gets created in Velok and what each format is for.
This page does not explain Velok products. It explains the content that lives inside them: who creates each format, what it is for and how a trip differs from a service, an experience, an event or a benefit.
1. Understand the role
Each format solves a different need and belongs to a different actor in the ecosystem.
2. Choose correctly
Publishing the right content improves discovery, context, conversion and permissions.
3. Connect layers
Velok works better when route, utility and community work together.

How to think about Velok
First the route, then the layers.
If you are unsure between formats, think about it this way: travelers structure the route with trips. Then brands, shops, agencies, club partners and premium users add layers according to their role.

Core layer
Trips
This is the main format for planning and publishing a complete route.
Who creates it
Travelers create it to share routes and itineraries.
What it is for
It organizes a route from beginning to end: name, description, stops, distance, duration and the visual content of the journey.
Relationship with trips
Inside the ecosystem, the trip is the backbone. The other formats complement it with layers of utility, activity, community and value.
What it usually includes
- Name and description
- Stops and route order
- Distance and duration
- Trip images
- Community ratings
When it makes sense to create it
- When you want to show a complete itinerary
- When you need to organize several stops within the same route
- When the main content is the route itself
Goal inside Velok
Turn route knowledge into a reusable guide for other motorcycle travelers.
Utility layer
Services
A commercial format designed so a business or brand can appear as a solution within the trip.
Who creates it
Brands, businesses and providers create them to be visible inside the ecosystem.
What it is for
It is used to show useful businesses and places that help the trip work better: lodging, food, workshops, stations, stores and other rider services.
Relationship with trips
It does not replace the trip. It supports it. The trip defines the route and services make it more viable, comfortable or safe.
What it usually includes
- Name and description
- Location and address
- Service types or categories
- Contact details
- Images and ratings
When it makes sense to create it
- When a business wants visibility in front of travelers
- When the value is in the service, infrastructure or commercial offer
- When the user needs to solve something specific along the journey
Goal inside Velok
Reduce friction on the road and make route decisions easier.
Experience layer
Experiences
A commercial or tourism offer meant to be lived in a place, not just passed through.
Who creates it
Agencies, operators and providers create them to offer activities or destination-based proposals.
What it is for
It is used to offer something memorable at a destination or stop: a guided activity, a local proposal or a place-based experience.
Relationship with trips
It connects with trips because it turns a stop into a reason to go. The trip gets you there; the experience gives meaning to the destination.
What it usually includes
- Title and description
- Availability and price
- Languages
- Activity category and level
- Requirements, what to bring and cancellation policy
- Experience steps or moments
When it makes sense to create it
- When an agency or provider wants to offer an activity
- When the proposal has its own tourism or experiential value
- When the destination matters as much as the route
Goal inside Velok
Make the trip more memorable and desirable through destination-based proposals.
Time layer
Events
A gathering with a defined date, time and place.
Who creates it
Only premium users can create them inside Velok.
Event creation is reserved for premium accounts.
What it is for
It is used to gather people for a ride, meet-up, presentation or organized activity at a specific moment.
Relationship with trips
It is the format most tied to time. It can even be linked to a specific trip, using that itinerary as the basis for the gathering.
What it usually includes
- Name and description
- Date, time and timezone
- Place and meeting point
- Highlights, links and requirements
- Capacity, cost and availability
- Event images
When it makes sense to create it
- When you want to gather people on a specific date
- When there are schedules, capacity or specific logistics
- When a trip works as the itinerary attached to the gathering
Goal inside Velok
Activate community and coordinate real-world encounters around the Velok ecosystem.
Value layer
Benefits
A concrete user advantage: a discount, code or special condition.
Who creates it
They are created by Velok Club partners and allies.
What it is for
It is used to offer savings or preferential access inside the ecosystem, especially through the Club and commercial allies.
Relationship with trips
It does not organize the trip or describe an activity. It strengthens the user decision with an economic or exclusive advantage before, during or after the route.
What it usually includes
- Title, partner and category
- Discount type and value
- Redemption code or link
- Validity and usage limits
- Instructions, terms and visibility
- Location if applicable
When it makes sense to create it
- When the main value is the discount or commercial advantage
- When you need to communicate usage rules and validity
- When you want to add value to the ecosystem without creating a new activity
Goal inside Velok
Increase user value and strengthen Velok beyond editorial content.
How to choose
If you want to do this, create this.
This matrix summarizes the right decision when two formats seem similar. The question is not only what content you have, but what job it must do for the user.
Need
I want to publish a complete route with stops and itinerary
Format
Trip
Why
Because the focus is the itinerary and how it is traveled. That format is created by travelers.
Need
I have a business or brand and want to show a useful place for riders
Format
Service
Why
Because the value is solving a concrete need on the road or at the destination through a commercial offer.
Need
I am an agency or provider and want to offer something to do or live in a place
Format
Experience
Why
Because the proposal is an activity that can be sold or booked, not just a point on the map.
Need
I am premium and want to gather people around a specific date
Format
Event
Why
Because there is a fixed moment with schedule, capacity or logistics, and creation requires a premium account.
Need
I am a club partner and want to communicate a discount or exclusive perk
Format
Benefit
Why
Because the main value is savings or exclusive access, and that format belongs to the Velok Club ecosystem.

Next step
If you still do not know what to create, think about the function first.
In Velok, the most common mistake is not the content itself, but the format. If the focus is the route, create a trip. If the focus is solving, living, gathering or offering an advantage, use the right layer.
